Established in 2017, YAF Ghana works to provide a platform for low-income high school students to explore scholarship opportunities available to them in Ghana and abroad to pursue higher education.
YAF Ghana achieves this by organizing scholarship workshops in selected high schools to educate students on topics such as government and corporate scholarships in Ghana, U.S. college scholarships and application, and other local and international scholarships.
Aside from the scholarship workshops, YAF Ghana also runs a residential scholars program that helps gifted but needy students from some of the poorest communities in Ghana to gain admission to elite colleges in North America. The 16-week summer program consists of two residential sessions in which students get basic SAT prep, an introduction to American colleges and the application processes, as well as leadership training and community engagement activities that prepare them to be well-rounded students and effective leaders.
Each year, we select 12-15 high achieving students into our scholar’s program.
Create opportunities for Ghana’s most promising students to attain higher education and become instruments of change in their communities.
We envision a world where all deserving students – regardless of their socioeconomic backgrounds – are able to access higher education. Each year we run several programs for high school students across Ghana aimed at helping us achieve our mission and vision. See our programs below.
Our Three Signature Programs
